Dr Iouri Belski

Iouri Belski, received B.Eng. and M.Sc. in Automation and Electronics in 1981, and a PhD degree in Physics in 1989 from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Dolgoprudny, Russia).

 

Iouri spent over 12 years with the “PHONON” Scentific Research Institute in Moscow, Russia. As a Project Leader and Project Deputy Leader he developed sensors, piezo-acoustic, microwave devices. He also worked with Russian-USA Joint Venture “TECOM” as the Head of Department of Innovation. He is now a Senior Lecturer with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia.

 

Iouri received a number of R&D grants totalling to over $1,000,000. He is the author of many research papers and has granted over 30 patents. Utilisation of these patents resulted in over $3,000,000 profits to the employers.

 

Iouri was introduced to TRIZ in 1982 and has since used it extensively in his R&D work. He is an acknowleged TRIZ expert and the Principal of TRIZ4U – the leading TRIZ consultancy in Australia. He is also the author of Method of Ideal Result (MIR). In 1998, he was nicknamed “Mr TRIZ Australia”. In recent years, he was invited to speak at numerous meetings and conferences. Iouri has consulted a number of US companies, when he was working with Ideation International (Detroit, MI, USA) in 2000. He was invited to lecture on TRIZ and MIR by the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor,MI, USA, 2000), the North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC, USA, 2000) and the National Institute of Education of Singapore (2002 and 2003). In Australia, he has worked with such companies as Kraft, Bosch, Energy Australia, Shefenaker Vision Systems, Honeywell, RM Williams. BD, Singapore Technologies Kinetics and The Chinese High School represent his Singapore clients. Business Review Weekly, Australia’s most popular business magazine, devoted an article to his work in 1999.

 

Being a scout during his school days, Iouri still enjoys outdoor activities and nature. He is currently advising EDU Professional Training in its TRIZ Design Program. He has recently conducted 3 TRIZ Manager programs in outdoor setting for ST Kinetics Ltd.
